Melania Trump on Wednesday reposted an AI-generated video depicting a likeness of her materializing in a pixelated cloud inside what appears to be Trump Tower, adding the caption “Into The Future.”

The clip was first shared by the official account for the $MELANIA cryptocurrency, which was launched on the eve of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration earlier this year; The Daily Beast said it had contacted Melania Trump’s office for comment.

Rumors alleging the former and current first lady has used a body double date to 2017 and have resurfaced periodically, including during the 2024 campaign and again during the Trumps’ recent state visit to the United Kingdom, when photographs of the couple holding hands prompted renewed speculation.

The repost follows a series of AI-manipulated videos amplified by President Trump on his social media platform in recent days, including one showing House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing a sombrero and mustache and another featuring fabricated profanities attributed to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer; the posts drew criticism from Democratic leaders and public commentators.

Over the weekend, the president also posted—and later deleted—an AI-generated video promoting “medbeds,” a conspiracy theory that claims secret cure-all medical devices exist; multiple outlets reported the removal.

Although she shared an AI-generated video on Wednesday, Melania Trump has previously emphasized caution around artificial intelligence. Speaking at a White House Task Force on AI Education meeting on Sept. 4, 2025, she said, “The robots are here. She said the future has moved beyond science fiction and, because AI is still in its early phase, we must nurture it responsibly—promoting progress while exercising careful oversight.
