Melania Trump Threatens Legal Action Against Hunter Biden Over Jeffrey Epstein Comments
|First Lady Melania Trump has demanded that Hunter Biden retract statements he made linking her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, threatening legal action if he does not comply.

In a letter dated August 6, Melania Trump’s attorney Alejandro Brito called Biden’s comments “false, defamatory and extremely salacious.” The letter was first reported by Fox News Digital on Wednesday.
The dispute stems from an interview Hunter Biden gave earlier this month to journalist Andrew Callaghan. During the interview, Biden alleged that Epstein had introduced Melania Trump to Donald Trump, attributing the claim to author Michael Wolff. “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are, like, so wide and deep,” Biden stated.
According to Brito’s letter, Biden’s comments were “widely shared on social media and covered by news outlets worldwide,” resulting in the First Lady experiencing “significant financial and reputational damage.”
The interview was part of a broader conversation in which Hunter Biden criticized “elites” and others in the Democratic Party who he said had undermined his father before Joe Biden dropped out of last year’s presidential campaign.
Donald and Melania Trump have consistently stated they were introduced by Paolo Zampolli, a modeling agent, at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998. Donald Trump has previously accused author Michael Wolff of fabricating stories to sell books.
The legal threat follows a pattern used by Donald Trump, who has frequently pursued litigation against critics. However, public figures like the Trumps face significant legal hurdles to succeed in defamation lawsuits.
The letter was sent to Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s defense attorney in his criminal cases. Lowell has not yet responded to requests for comment.
