Marie Temara, the 6-foot-3 OnlyFans sensation famed for her towering figure and legs said to be insured for \$10 million, had a terrifying close call during her vacation in the Bahamas.

While enjoying the waters at Compass Cay, a spot known for friendly nurse sharks, Temara dangled her bare foot over the side of a boat. What followed was captured on camera — and it didn’t take long for the video to go viral.

“I came this close to losing my leg,” she told her 2.8 million followers.

In the clip, which has racked up over 629,000 views, three sharks appeared below the surface — gliding just inches from her exposed foot.

“I Was Screaming Inside”

Temara tried to keep calm on the outside, even throwing in a playful shimmy, but she later admitted to being terrified.

“I knew sharks were nearby, but I never imagined they’d get that close,” she said. “Inside, I was screaming.”

Given that her career and income — reportedly \$10 million a year — rely heavily on her appearance, especially her legs, the experience was a major wake-up call. She has since looked into insuring her legs, receiving a quote of \$100,000 a year from a firm in London.

Temara’s rise to fame didn’t come overnight. After losing her job in 2020 and going through a breakup, she turned to TikTok to share her experiences as a tall woman. Her content — often playful videos of her towering over furniture or kicking objects — quickly gained traction.

Now with over 390,000 TikTok followers and a booming OnlyFans presence, Temara says she earns in a single month what she used to make in an entire year.

Interestingly, Temara isn’t the tallest in her family. Her mother is 6’5″, and her brothers stretch to nearly 7 feet tall. The family even brands themselves as “the tallest family on TikTok.”

Though she once struggled with her height, especially when it came to dating, Temara now embraces her uniqueness — and encourages others to do the same.

“I hope my videos help girls feel proud of who they are,” she said.

While the shark encounter didn’t end in injury, it reminded both Temara and her fans just how fragile life — and fame — can be.
