A photo in a Jeffrey Epstein scrapbook released Monday shows Epstein holding a novelty check signed “DJ Trump” with a handwritten caption suggesting Epstein “sold” a woman to Donald Trump for $22,500, according to materials published by House Oversight Committee Democrats.

A picture from a birthday scrapbook said to have been put together by Ghislaine Maxwell shows Jeffrey Epstein with Mar-a-Lago member Joel Paschow and a third person whose face is blacked out. A handwritten inscription attributed to Paschow partially reads: “Jeffrey showing early talents with money + women Sells ‘fully depreciated’ [redaction] to Donald Trump for $22,500,” and continues, “Even though I handled the deal I didn’t get any of the money on the girl!” The novelty check visible in the photo is signed “DJ Trump,” and the Wall Street Journal reported the signature’s style differs from most of Trump’s signatures from that period.

The Wall Street Journal reported the woman shown was someone Epstein and Trump “socialized with” in the 1990s. House Oversight Committee Democrats began publishing details from the scrapbook on Monday as lawmakers and others scrutinize Epstein’s long-standing relationships.

The scrapbook was apparently compiled by Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a minor and died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex‑trafficking charges.

Trump and Epstein were long-time acquaintances who became estranged in 2004; in July Trump said they split after Epstein “stole” workers from the Mar-a-Lago spa. One of those workers, Virginia Giuffre, later said she was abused by Epstein.

When contacted by NBC on Tuesday, the president declined to comment and called the matter a “dead issue.” The Justice Department has previously said no list of Epstein clients exists, and Trump has called investigations into Epstein a Democratic “hoax.”

Separately, recent civil jury rulings found Trump liable for sexually abusing writer E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s and defaming her; an appeals court on Monday ruled he cannot claim presidential immunity to avoid paying $83.3 million in damages.
