Was it love—or a financial setup? That’s the question Simon Guobadia is asking himself after his whirlwind marriage to reality star Porsha Williams came to an end. In a candid interview, the businessman claims he was “targeted from day one.”

“I Was Blindsided”

Simon Guobadia, 61, says his 14-month marriage to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, 44, was not what it seemed.

“I kept asking why she wanted a divorce, but she never gave me a straight answer,” he said. “This felt like a setup.”

Simon says he couldn’t reach her family either—and eventually sent a scathing message calling the relationship a “\$5 million rehab project.”

Why Porsha Walked Away

Williams filed for divorce in February 2024. She later revealed that she had concerns about Simon’s immigration status, which included past fraud-related issues.

The breaking point, she said, came after a tense Valentine’s Day. Just over a week later, she filed the papers.

But according to Simon, there were no warning signs.

“She never shared any issues. When you’re married, you talk things through—but that never happened.”

A Fast Engagement, a Costly Ending

Simon now admits he rushed into things.

“We got engaged in 30 days. I was not thinking clearly.”

The divorce settlement, finalized shortly after his deportation to Nigeria, granted Porsha \$40,000 a month in alimony for 14 months—a total of \$560,000.

She also gets to stay in their Atlanta home, with expenses covered, for up to three years. If she wants to keep it, she’ll need to refinance and pay Simon half the equity.

Simon plans to appeal the judge’s ruling, saying:

“I’ve honored prenups before. But this one—I’m fighting all the way, even to the Supreme Court if needed.”

No Love Lost

The pair didn’t share any children, but their kids from past relationships lived together during the marriage. Still, Simon says he purposely kept his distance from Porsha’s daughter, PJ.

“I avoid getting close to my partner’s children,” he explained. “Too often, they’re used to manipulate emotions or situations.”

Even when Porsha later texted him saying that PJ missed him, Simon says he chose not to respond.

He also dismissed her gesture of sending child support money while he was in custody.

“It was \$5,000 total—not even enough to cover real needs. I believe it was done for show.”

What’s Next for Porsha?

According to a source close to Williams:

“Porsha has moved forward with her life and hopes the best for Simon,” a source shared.

But as far as Simon is concerned, this chapter isn’t closed just yet. And he wants the world to know: he regrets ever saying “I do.”
