The influence is in tears after her offer to pay for strangers’ shopping is rejected

Amelia Goldsmith, a London-based fitness influence, recently shared on TikTok her idea to pay for other people’s groceries at a nearby supermarket. She cried in the parking lot as her intentions were continually rejected. Amelia was thrilled about her selfless plan, but she was unsure if people would call her a “weirdo” or ignore her. Her acts caused a rift in opinion; while some praised her for her valiant attempts, others rejected her offer, leaving Amelia humiliated and criticized.

Amelia offered to pay for people’s groceries once she entered Sainsbury’s, but she was turned down each time. Even one of the men inquired, “Why?” before stating, “No, no, no, we don’t need it.” Amelia was deflated following numerous rejections, and you can see her crying throughout the video. She was disappointed since she had anticipated others to be “overjoyed” by her efforts. However, she thought that they had declined her invitation.

Amelia’s story is similar to that of Australian influencer Harrison Pawluk, who also met a shopper and offered her a bouquet in exchange for a viral video. The shopper defied Harrison’s claims by openly claiming that she felt “dehumanized” due to the experience.

Amelia’s efforts were frequently rejected, but she remained devoted to her cause and instead stocked a food bank with various supplies, such as dried pasta and cooking sauces. However, viewers quickly offered ideas, advising her to try Asda, Aldi, or Iceland, where people would need it, as Sainsbury’s was way too middle class.

Amelia’s attempt to extend generosity to strangers went wrong when her noble plan was continually turned down. Her actions should be commended because she remained dedicated to her mission and worked to make others happy. Although some people might have turned down her offer, she might find solace in the fact that she made an effort to improve people’s lives.

@millyg_fit in hindsight i can see why people can react differently to this, but my intentions were purely to brighten up someones day💕 i’m still super happy with what I ended up doing and i’ll do more of it for sure #storytime #vlog #makesomeonesday #foodshop ♬ Dandelions Ruth B – CIMON PAWRET
