Congressman Michael Rulli didn’t hold back. Talking to Fox News, he asked a question that hit hard:
“Can you name a single major city in America where you’d feel safe letting your kids walk alone?”
His answer? “You can’t. And that should scare every one of us.”

He blames years of what he calls “left-wing softness”—things like sanctuary city policies, police budget cuts, and unchecked crime. “This isn’t compassion,” he said. “It’s failure.”

Senator Bernie Moreno went even further. He demanded Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval resign over what he called a complete breakdown of safety. “The mayor of Cincinnati is a disgrace,” Moreno said, adding that the city needs leaders who actually care about what’s happening on their streets.

FoxNews.com reports that five people have already been charged following the incident, and Mayor Pureval has called the violent clash a “vicious fight,” promising that more arrests are on the way.

But for many, those promises sound too familiar—like empty words spoken after the damage is already done.

Even Vice President JD Vance, who was shown the video by Moreno, said he was appalled. “It’s disgusting. When you have a grown man sucker-punching a middle-aged woman, that person ought to go to jail for a very long time,” he said at an event in Canton, Ohio.
