A couple with a significant age difference has defied their critics and celebrated their first wedding anniversary with love and joy. Quran McCain, 25, and Cheryl McGregor, 62, who have a 37-year age gap, first crossed paths in 2012 while working at a fast food restaurant in Georgia. However, their relationship faced backlash from online trolls due to their age difference. Many expressed disapproval on TikTok, where the couple shared glimpses of their lives and gained over three-and-a-half million followers.

Despite the negativity, Quran and Cheryl tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on September 3, 2021, which was live-streamed to their TikTok audience. A year later, the couple is more in love than ever and has set their sights on starting a family. Cheryl, who has seven children from previous relationships and 17 grandchildren, is in talks with a surrogate as they attempt to conceive their first child together. While they initially tried to get pregnant naturally, Cheryl’s age led them to explore surrogacy or adoption as options.

Quran and Cheryl are determined to become parents and carefully consider their options. Quran has expressed its preference for surrogacy but highlighted its concern about potential legal complications in the future. “We are looking for a nice surrogate willing to sign a contract to have nothing to do with the child after birth. We don’t want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain; we are not financially inclined,” Quran said. As for adoption, they are specifically looking for a biracial baby to ensure that the child is aware of their diverse background and feels a solid connection to their parents.

Although the couple has had difficulties, their love and dedication to one another have never wavered. Years after their initial encounter, Quran and Cheryl started feeling attracted to one another. They lost contact, but a chance encounter in November 2020 when Quran noticed Cheryl working as a clerk at a convenience shop brought them back together. They began a formal relationship in April 2021, and Quran proposed to Cheryl at an Olive Garden three months later with a $3,000 engagement ring. Despite his anxieties, he managed to make Cheryl feel special with the proposal, and they were married the following fall on their first wedding anniversary.

Despite their age difference, Cheryl and Quran’s relationship may be unconventional to some, but they are deeply in love and share a strong bond. They are unapologetic about their affection for each other, regardless of the negative comments they receive on social media. “People on social media have a lot of hate for us; they say I’m dating my grandmother. I am not; she is younger than my grandmother, and we are no different from any other couple; love is love,” Quran said. Despite the hate, they remain unfazed and focused on their relationship, knowing they have each other’s support.

Quran and Cheryl have also created an account called Only Fans, where they post unique content and share their love journey on TikTok. Even though they have come under criticism and censure, they concentrate on their love for one another and the good things about their relationship. Quran declared, “Nothing they do or say can harm us.” Quran and Cheryl are thankful for the love they have found in one other as they mark their first wedding anniversary and are excited about starting a family.
