|Olive Westerman, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, revealed her tips for staying young. She suggested that the secret to having a long life is to avoid talking to strange guys, work with children, be happy with life, and use your resources wisely.
Olive spent much of her life travelling with her late husband Sam, a travel clerk and writer. They chose not to have children and spent the rest of their lives travelling.

Olive shared an afternoon tea with the other residents of her care facility to commemorate her 100th birthday. The caregivers at the facility carried on her late husband Sam’s custom of giving her a bottle of Estee Lauder perfume on significant occasions.
Olive was asked what her secrets were for living a long life, and one of them included not chatting to odd men. Working with youngsters will keep you young at heart, she added. Olive’s optimistic outlook on life and ability to be pleased with what she has also significantly contributed to her longevity.

Olive and Sam were regulars at a nearby church where they first became acquainted. She cited his gentleness and kindness, as well as his willingness to be of service to others, as some of her favourite aspects of him.
Olive spent some time living abroad, and her preferred location was Singapore. She cherished the place’s intrigue and thrill because it was dissimilar to England.
