Amid ferns and fungi-draped settings, a snow-white Bull Terrier named Claire emerges, a striking figure against abandoned remnants. The ethereal quality of the photographs belies Claire’s presence as if she steps into the shoes of the former inhabitants. There’s an endeavor to capture the essence of these places, often spending extended moments simply absorbing the ambiance.

These walls are mute observers of tales of love, companionship, heartache, hatred, and sometimes even darker narratives. The relentless advance of nature into these structures, where ivy breaches the confines, moss supplants carpets, and saplings sprout indoors, is a testament to the impermanence of all things. Such an atmosphere is unparalleled; decay exudes its charisma.

Urban exploration, known as Urbex, unfurls a world of forsaken farms, residences, opulent palaces, and reclaimed industrial expanses before us. Among these forgotten landscapes, one day, the notion of utilizing my furry companion as a subject struck me, birthing a distinctive term for this genre of photography – Furbex. Our escapades have found a home in the annals of Bored Panda.

This shared journey culminated in a recently published book titled “Furbex.” Within its pages lies a visual and narrative chronicle of our five-year odyssey.

#1 The Little Corporal

Urban exploration, or Urbex, as it’s known, entails delving into the abandoned nooks of farms, homes, grand palaces, and the reclaimed spaces of industry. During one of these excursions, the idea of casting my furry companion as a muse struck me, giving birth to a distinctive form of photography – Furbex. Our exploits have been chronicled right here on Bored Panda.

This collective venture has now crystallized into a recently released book titled “Furbex.” Enclosed within its pages are glimpses and tales from our five-year voyage.
