“Self-Absorbed” Mother-in-Law Criticized for Bikini Outfit at Daughter’s Wedding
A mother’s choice of attire at her daughter’s wedding sparked heated discussions online. The woman, Paulina, opted for a bikini underneath a sheer dress, igniting controversy over her outfit selection.
Originally, Paulina intended to wear a white gown to the wedding of her 28-year-old daughter and Taiwanese actress Jin Cheng. However, after her daughter requested she not overshadow the bride, the 57-year-old decided on a crystal mesh cover-up over a blue bikini instead, as reported by the Daily Star.
The internet quickly reacted to Paulina’s fashion choice, with many condemning it as inappropriate for a wedding. Jin Cheng and her partner, Aky Niwa, selected April 26 for their wedding to mark the fourth anniversary of their first meeting. Reflecting on her previous views on marriage, Jin shared, “I originally didn’t want to get married. When my mother got divorced, I thought marriage was a hell and a grave. But I was very happy with Aky. She proposed to me twice, once on a train, so I agreed.”
Jin added, “We are getting better and better. We do everything together, even take baths together. Now, we only have to go to the toilet alone.”
Paulina defended her bikini choice, explaining she wore it because her daughter asked her not to upstage the bride. Jin’s mother expressed her joy for the couple’s closeness, noting, “They didn’t shy away from holding hands and kissing in front of me. It was so good that I was a little jealous.”
