In the mid-19th century, Henry Robertson Sandbach, a member of the esteemed Sandbach family, commissioned Sir George Gilbert Scott to bring his vision to life. Between 1861 and 1866, the magnificent Hafodunos Hall emerged, radiating its Venetian-Gothic splendor across the landscape. Scott’s exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail rendered Hafodunos Hall one of his most remarkable country houses.

Before the construction of Hafodunos Hall, a previous hall existed on the site, dating back to 1674. Regrettably, the remnants of both ancestral houses remain elusive, leaving behind an intriguing sense of mystery and history .
