A man descends into a narrow pit to collect puppies

Pedro Chafala, from Tupungato, Argentina, became a canine hero after rescuing puppies trapped in a narrow ditch. The mother of the dogs screamed for help because she had unknowingly left her puppies in the underground river flowing under a bridge.

Many neighbors were present and municipal workers arrived on the scene but were unable to help and Pedro Chafala was present and he quickly sprang into action. The bridge was thin and the puppies couldn’t move. In an interview with local media outlet El Cuco Digital, the man who rescued the puppies said, “I could go some distance, but I came and I was able to take them one by one.”

Firefighters are alerted, but a local hero saves the day.

Local residents informed the fire department as the rescue operations became very complicated. However, firefighters arrived quickly but did not have the proper tools to save the puppies. Fortunately, Pedro offered to rescue the puppies. Rescue-minded social media user Javier Moyano caught the act on camera and posted it online. The pictures show Pedro Chafala and his freed children next to the dog.

Puppies are now safely up for adoption.
