The artist claims she began cosplaying in college after hearing about it from her then-boyfriend (now husband). “After he informed me about the con, we were scheduled to go together, but I got sick.” In an interview with Bored Panda, Jasmine revealed, “So he brought me some mementos back from the dealer room.” “I had no idea you could buy anime-related merchandise, so I was really excited!” We were later going across our college campus when we came upon MomoCon, which had begun at our school. Jasmine claims that cosplaying isn’t her full-time profession; she works as a concept artist for a video game studio. “I try to keep the “real world” me distinct from the cosplayer me,” says the artist. “However, I think my talents in both cosplay and art benefit me on either side, and it’s very interesting to see the influences of my cosplay on my work.” “I don’t believe I’d ever work as a full-time cosplayer since art is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so lucky to be able to do it!”
