Dogs possess a unique ability to elevate our spirits, yet regrettably, some humans fail to reciprocate the loyalty. Gucci, an 11-year-old Chihuahua mix, found himself losing hope in a shelter until Johanna, a remarkable 100-year-old woman, decided to open her heart and home to the senior pup. Now inseparable, Johanna believes Gucci is the secret to her well-being in her centenarian years.

At Muttville Shelter, a reserved Chihuahua named Gnocchi awaited a miracle. Rescued from a hoarding situation, toothless and often overlooked, Gnocchi found his special person in Johanna.

Adoption coordinator Alice Ensor was surprised by Johanna’s adoption request, considering her milestone age. Nevertheless, she recognized Johanna’s unique love for dogs and her commitment to providing a loving home. Johanna’s thorough application, supported by her caregiver Eddie and daughter Debbie, assured the shelter of the care Gnocchi would receive.
