Additionally, they provided their guests with modest, sentimental wedding favours, creating a “bag of randomness” for loved ones. A bit of string, a marble, a gobstopper, and a penny, each having a specific significance, were placed inside each bag.

Budget-Friendly Dresses to Buy
Hill admitted she was “cheeky” when choosing the ideal gown, but she could include her dress budget in the overall cost of the wedding. She went to bridal boutiques and tried on various gowns until she picked a style she loved, then combed through classified ads in the newspaper and on secondhand websites to find an identical match. After searching for a few days, she discovered her dream dress on eBay for about $75. A $4 tiara, $30 bridal store clearance shoes, and a $2.50 reproduction of the “Heart of the Ocean” necklace from the movie “Titanic” necklace completed her ensemble.

Add Special Occasions Together
The baptism of Hill and her husband’s daughter Ellie-Mae was merged with their wedding, saving them an additional $600. She added that it was a great idea, as it made our special day even more memorable and allowed us to ensure that everyone in the family was present on both occasions.

Repurpose and Make Your Furniture
The Hills are still trying to live as cheaply as possible by repurposing used furniture and constructing their Christmas decorations. We learned from our wedding that you can accomplish anything on a tight budget, said Hill. We will upcycle a piece of furniture into our design if we discover that we like it. We have made our decorations for Christmas, including a life-size Grinch, for less than $12.50. I put together a complete street celebration for the Queen’s Jubilee for less than $12.50, and I am looking forward to my upcoming test at the Coronation.
