Zay and I checked out the popular Zenning neighborhood a few months ago. We found a big house that Andrew first discovered in March 2018. It was hidden for almost a year before someone found it again. This mansion was different from others in the area because it was starting to fall apart. Despite the overgrown plants and a sign saying the property was being developed, it still looked like an abandoned house. Please don’t be upset about the price, the house was sold for $3.5 million in 2014, but today the 1.5-acre property is worth more than $7 million. That’s why I call it a hidden gem!

This two-story brick house has 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a 3-car garage and space to park 10 cars. It’s located in a highly desirable neighborhood in the city but has been sitting empty and deteriorating since the sale. This is a common occurrence in this area because the location and lot size are rare. Often, these properties are owned by foreign investors waiting for prices to go up, wealthy people looking to build their dream homes, or foreign nationals who want to move money to another country.

When you enter the big house, you will see a big room with a fireplace on your right as you walk through the front door. Then, you will find a big living room with a double-sided fireplace dividing it. The floors are made of wood, and some parts bend because of too much moisture. You will see the main stairs and two bedrooms on the right side. On the left is probably a room for watching movies, a kitchen, a way to the garage and the stairs to the private main bedroom.

The second floor was a unique design. The main staircase was on one side and led to a hallway with many closets and two bedrooms on either side of a bathroom. The bathroom was opposite the main entrance, with tall ceilings and oversized windows. The most enormous bedroom was at the end of the hallway, with a 6-part bathroom, a place for makeup, an oversized walk-in closet, and a private staircase.

I walked down the secret stairs to a hallway next to the kitchen. The kitchen was enormous, with many counters and a place to eat. Some of the things in the kitchen were a shiny Miele dishwasher, a Gaggenau stove with 5 burners, a KitchenAid oven on the wall, a Panasonic microwave, and a fancy Subzero fridge and freezer.

Go down to the basement. It was filthy, and I forgot my breathing mask. But luckily, Zenning with Zay had healthcare masks, so I wore two. I was surprised by the amount of mold and decay I saw. I didn’t stay long because it was not safe to breathe in. The basement had an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, two bedrooms, gym, recreation room, and a door to the pool area. Although it was interesting, it was also filthy. Please don’t go into the basement without a breathing mask; it’s not safe.

I was so glad to leave the moldy and unpleasant place, and it was an exciting exploration because of the high level of decay. The empty mansions were boring, but this place was unique. A special thanks to Freaktography for telling us about it, but I don’t think they have ever been there.
