After an emotional visit from a gentle horse, a bedridden patient is moved to tears
Dogs and horses have been trained for various services, such as treating mental illnesses and providing palliative care. They possess remarkable skills that even experts can’t match, including the ability to soothe and melt hearts simultaneously.
Joo Eber da Rocha, a dedicated driver and the father of Audri Spake was hurt in a truck collision in February 2021. After being saved and getting medical attention, he remained immobile, and Audri grew increasingly devastated by his state every day.
Audri decided to bring her ailing father to Coletivo Incluso’s headquarters at Fazenda Rio Grande to encourage the participation of those who are vulnerable. Equine therapy was provided by the group using a horse named Paçoca.
Paçoca approached Joo infinitely lovingly as he was on the bed during the visit, resting his head on his. As if to reassure Joo that everything would be well, the horse closed his eyes. Joo was in tears at the emotional encounter, and Paçoca held him close the entire time.
The touching scene was filmed by Audri and posted to her Instagram profile, where it has gotten millions of views and close to 500,000 heart symbols. That was a memorable moment because of the serene expression on Paçoca’s face and Joo’s uncontrollable weeping.
