At the age of 69, Roy Jurina knew the struggles of life all too well. He was just one among the 38,000 veterans experiencing homelessness in the United States. Despite his financial hardships, Roy displayed incredible generosity, willing to share the little he had to help others in need.
In a heartwarming TikTok video that quickly went viral, Roy was approached by a stranger who asked for a dollar to buy some food. Though he couldn’t spare a dollar, Roy didn’t hesitate to offer the little he had – 27 cents. He shared that sometimes he would give away every dime he had, and somehow more money would come his way.

This kind stranger was Jimmy Kellogg, a renowned social media star known as Jimmy Darts, with millions of followers on TikTok. Jimmy often filmed himself seeking small favours from strangers and rewarded those who helped him with substantial cash gifts, often amounting to $500 or more.
Moved by Roy’s selflessness, Jimmy immediately gifted him $500 in cash. Initially doubtful, Roy questioned if Jimmy would report him for taking the money. However, after assurance, he accepted the gift, planning to use some of it to stay in a hotel and have a bath. Remarkably, he also showed concern for Jimmy’s well-being, asking if he had a place to stay.
Jimmy’s admiration for Roy’s kindness didn’t end there. He launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Roy A Homeless Veteran Off The Streets!” with a $20,000 goal. The response from the masses was overwhelming, surpassing the goal in less than 12 hours, reaching an astonishing $68,000, and still rising.

In a touching follow-up TikTok, Jimmy reunited with Roy to share the incredible news of the funds raised. Roy, who had previously expressed feelings of loneliness and insignificance, was overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing the outpouring of support from Jimmy’s followers.
